Eiderdown
Located in our neighborhood of Germantown, Eiderdown is one of our favorite little spots for modernized German food. Try the pretzel with beer cheese (seriously the best warm beer cheese in town, in our opinion of course). Jessie is obsessed with the fest balls and the garden spätzle. Ben loves the....
Portage House
Head across the river for this delicious little restaurant, that is hands-down one of our top choices. Ask to be seated upstairs near the window---it's a beautiful view. Jessie's picks: the porkchop sandwhich or the pasta. Ben's picks:
Garage Bar
Go there for the pizza or the brunch. You can't go wrong!
Hammerheads
Great food! Try the tacos, and the pretzel croissants with beer cheese ----they are amazing!!
Wiltshire Pantry Bakery and Cafe
So much deliciousness in this tiny spot. You can't go wrong with anything you eat! Go for brunch on Saturday or Sunday. Make sure you go before noon though to get the best food selections.
Big Four Bridge Entrance
If it is not too cold, walk the bridge....to the Portage House!
Bernheim Arboretum & Research
Again, if it is not too cold, hike the trails in Bernheim. This is one of our favorite things to do with Kero and always a perfect date day,
Angel's Envy Distillery
For you bourbon lovers, check out this distillery located downtown!
Maker's Mark Distillery
If you are up for the drive---Maker's Mark has a pretty awesome distillery, but bring your walking shoes. It's huge!
Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse
Located on Fourth Street Live, this is a great spot to get a taste of bourbon. And you can learn to make your own whisky sour. Totally worth it!
Evan Williams Bourbon Experience
This place gives a great tour and you really learn about the history of bourbon. Another place to check off of your Bourbon Trail passport.
Copper & Kings American Brandy Company
Right by our venue and such a fun place!
Churchill Downs
So, it may not be race season and the horses won't be running in February, but you can still check out the museum and take a picture in front of Churchill Downs.
Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory
This one of the first places Ben took Jessie on her first visit to Louisville. Definitely a cool place to check out!
The Frazier History Museum
Super neat museum to check out located on Main Street's historic Museum Row. Go online to check out the exhibits that are currently open.
