If you plan on staying the night, we recommend checking out Carter Mountain on Sunday. Pick apples, go for a hayride, and enjoy an apple cider doughnut while taking in the views. Carter Mountain is about 45 minutes from Orange, but is well worth the drive.
Such a cool thing to experiene! The tunnel was created to allow the Blueridge Railway to pass through the mountains to reach the Shenandoah Valley. This is a fairly easy hike; the tunnel itself is completely flat but the path to the tunnel includes some steep hills.
