Getting to the Cotswolds

Drive! This is the best way to get to the Bibury/Cirencester area and will give you the most flexibility to explore (public transportation is limited in the areas surrounding the venue). From London, the drive is 1.5-2hrs following the M4 and driving up from Swindon. Train! Alternatively, there is a train station in Kemble (10 minutes outside Cirencester or 20 minutes from Cripps Barn). Trains run approximately every hour from London Paddington, so be sure to check departure times in advance. The station in Kemble is very small so arrange a taxi ahead of time. Ride sharing apps aren't available so be sure to arrange taxis for transportation to/from the wedding venue in advance! See below for a list of taxi companies recommended by the venue.

Heathrow Airport

Airports! For guests arriving from abroad, we recommend flying to Heathrow Airport. There's also a smaller airport in Bristol that's a similar distance away if you want to explore that area before going to the Cotswolds. Pay somebody with a car! Instead of driving, it’s also possible to book a private hire company for travel from the airport. For example, Siren Cars out of Cirencester charges £150 for one-way travel from Heathrow. This would require booking taxis to get around after arriving, or there are car rental companies in Swindon and Cirencester. Note that it isn't possible to travel by train from Heathrow to Kemble directly, you would first need to travel into London and then take the train from London Paddington.

Wait! I'm not from the UK! How do I book things?

For car rental, the UK has many of the same companies as the US (Enterprise is the main one in Cirencester, you can also use Kayak, Booking.com, Expedia, etc). Make sure you specifically reserve an automatic if that's what you're looking for! To pre-book train tickets and see departure times you can use thetrainline.com. It's also possible to buy tickets at the station using the automated machines. Citymapper is a great resource/app for getting around London using public transport.
