We met in Silver Bay New York at a summer camp. We had both been working there one year before we started dating, but we had different groups of friends the first summer. We didnt really know each other well until the second year when Steve felt more confident talking with the latinos after having been to Costa Rica. By that time he barely knew spanish but he decided to practice and make more friends. Steve tried his best (which wasnt very good) to speak as much spanish as possible around Jessica. That was really nice because that made Jessica much more confident to talk with him In english (she didnt speak english very well then either.) Even though it was more difficult to communicate, after a while we decided to date. It was difficult to make that decision because we were both afraid. We didn't know if it was gonna work out being in a long distance relationship after the summer. But like choosing to date in a cross-cultural relationship, we took the risk! After Jessica went to Michigan and met Steve´s family, Steve went to México to do the same. By the time Steve went to Mexico for the second time in his birthday, we were more in love and we were afraid that our realtionship would not last because of distance. So, on the beach on Steve´s birhtday he proposed to Jessica. But we decided to hold off on a wedding until we knew each other more and were more sure about our decision. In order to do that we returned to Silver Bay for the summer to be together again. Jessica moved to Michigan in the fall and finally in December, we decided to marry. But we are always late, so we took a while to pick the date. It is a really long story with plenty more adventures we wont tell you about right now because we dont want to bore you. But we do hope we get the chance to bore you with stories when we see you at the wedding!
