Celebrate a milestone

and

Remember a journey

June 22, 2024

Seattle, WA

I'm graduating!

I moved to Seattle to begin classes at the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in the summer of 2014. I took several years away from school and almost a full decade later, I will be graduating with a Master's in Counseling Psychology. This celebration is about so much more than a degree for me; it is a recognition of a decade-long journey of growth and becoming. Don't get me wrong, I DEFINITELY want to celebrate the work I did during school. Besides probably hundreds of pages written and thousands of pages read, my time at the school forced me to wrestle with my sense of identity, my beliefs, and what I want to do in the world. However, my decision to go back to school was so much more than academic or even vocational. It was a step of following a sense of who I am as I continue to unfold and what I most desire to do and create in the world. It challenges me to ask you to celebrate with me, to take up space and ask for something--even this act is evidence of so much growth! But I want to invite you into celebrating a part of my life, and I hope you can join, because you matter to me!
