It all began with a spark—literally. In February 2020, just as the world began to pause, fate stepped in. We matched on a dating app called Chispa, which just so happens to mean "spark" in Spanish. From our very first messages, something clicked. That spark turned into long conversations, laughter, and the quiet excitement of getting to know someone who just felt right. After a month of virtual connection, we met in person—and what started as something small began to grow into something extraordinary. Our relationship unfolded slowly and intentionally, filled with thrift store treasure hunts, cozy nights in, and a shared love for family, animals, and the simple joys of life. One of those joys? Becoming the proud (and slightly obsessed) parents of Chester, our majestic Maine Coon cat. He’s fluffy, dramatic, and very much believes he’s the star of this love story. Two years into our relationship, we traveled to Progreso, Yucatán to visit Renato’s family—and we instantly fell in love. The blend of his rich Mayan heritage, the warmth of the people, the sunshine, and the beauty of the beach made it feel like paradise. It wasn’t just a trip—it was a turning point. So when we started dreaming about our wedding, we knew we didn’t just want to get married in Mérida—we wanted to share the magic of it with the people we love most.
