Things To See, Places to Go

Point Reyes is one of our favorite places, and the setting is the main reason we picked Straus Ranch as our venue. If you can manage it, we highly encourage you to spend an extra day or two exploring. Gold stars to those who attempt to see it all!
The Marshall Store

Stop by our favorite oyster shack for incredible views of the water where you'll enjoy excellent BBQ and raw oysters, shucked straight from Tomales Bay.

Hog Island Oyster Co

Hog Island Oyster Co

Highly recommend reserving a bbq here ahead of time! You can shuck your own oysters and cook them right on the bay. If you want to skip the DIY route, reserve a table. Enjoy wine, Point Reyes blue cheese, fresh oysters, and bird watch on the bay.

Saltwater Oyster Depot

Excellent bay and farm to table food in a bright and airy cafe.

Limantour Beach

Easy, beautiful and often private beach hike, where you'll get sweeping views of the coast line.

Tomales Point Trail

Tomales Point Trail

Pierce Point Road, Inverness, CA 94937
, (415) 464-5100

One of our favorite hikes. 10 mile hike round trip. If you're down to get muddy, catch a glimpse the elusive "Tule Elk" and an occasional Coyote, you'll be glad you did this memorable (and fairly challenging) hike. Half way through, there are views of both the Pacific Ocean and Tomales Bay. Have lunch at the point of the famous San Andreas fault line.

If you are into photography, the journey to this hike is epic. You will see views of the Tomales Bay and the Pacific Ocean, and can stop by the often photographed "Cypress Tunnel" on your way out.

Heidrun Meadery

Heidrun Meadery

Beautiful, rustic farm setting for those interested in checking out something different- their meads are unlike anything we've tried and most comparable to champagne.

HenHouse Brewing Company

HenHouse Brewing Company

, (707) 978-4577

Pair a visit here with the epic Russian River brewery for some of the best beers CA has to offer. A bit of a drive from the venue, but worth it for the enthusiasts!
