Salento Airport (BDS) in Brindisi
Brindisi is the closest airport. It is a one hour drive from the airport to Masseria Potenti. Chris and Jessica have flown Alitalia from Rome (FCO) to Brindisi; it's a quick easy flight. It costs about 100 Euros plus VAT (tax) for a private driver from Brindisi to Masseria Potenti.

Bari is the second closest airport to the wedding venue. It is a 2 hour drive from the airport to Masseria Potenti.
Train
Brindisi Railway Station
There is a direct train from Rome to Brindisi that takes 5.5 hours. Jessica & Angela took the train and loved arriving in Puglia this way. The views are beautiful and it is more relaxing to travel this way than by air. We suggest this option for anyone planning to spend time in Rome prior to heading south. Be aware when arriving in Brindisi you need to carry your suitcase down one flight of stairs then up one flight of stairs. It costs about 100 Euros plus VAT (tax) for a private driver from Brindisi to Masseria Potenti.

Transportation upon arrival
Puglia is a rural part of Italy. The train and public transport gets you to the larger towns but not the more remote areas including Masseria Potenti. Upon arriving in Puglia, either rent a car, hire a taxi, or work with your lodging to pre-schedule a private driver. It costs about 120 euros one way for a private driver. Consider renting a car if you intend to do additional exploring while in the area.

We recommend renting a car to best explore Puglia. The countryside roads are not crowded and generally easy to navigate, but we still suggest GPS. When visiting the towns it's best to park your car on the outskirts and walk amongst the smaller streets.
