The Grand Canyon is about an hour and a half away from Flagstaff.

Grand Canyon

This is one of Jessica's favorite places in the world. Tyson knew this and took her there to propose to her! If it is dry enough, there is great hiking. If it is snowy enough, there is skiing and snowboarding. There is a scenic gondola available any time.
