Moving to Chesterton was a huge step for my family and I. Coming to a new area, starting at a new school. How scary right? Though, what held a lot of it together was the amazing bus driver and substitute bus driver. Before I even knew that Trevor existed, I had met his mom, Connie and his grandmother, Rita.. Rita was my bus driver for many years and when she was unable to be there, we had Connie. Small world right? I always gave Rita a hug during pick up and drop offs. There was some times though, that I guess he had to join in on the rides.
Ah, Chesterton Middle School. What crazy fun that we had in seventh and eighth grade. Trevor and I dated back in eighth grade. We were each others first boyfriend and girlfriend. We did not date long, but the time that we had was fun. When we were together at that time, I helped him with the boy scouts haunted trail at the camp of ToPeNeBee. It was interesting, but was glad that I could be part of something he loved doing. That is when we had our first (awkward) kiss. Both worried that our braces would get stuck to one another (how funny). That is when the love had started...
Birthdays really are not a thing for either of us. Though, Trevor wanted to do something special for me and so, he decided to book a trip to Southern Indiana for us to enjoy sometime away. On this trip, we decided it would be fun to hit up some wineries. Now, remind you, I have never had a drink before (I KNOW CRAZY). It was so much fun though. we went all over the Southern Indiana area just hitting up the most random wineries. Are one favorite was a place called Monkey Hallow. It was such a beautiful building ontop of a hill. There was an older gentleman sitting in there alone (Owner). He helped to educate us on wine, and told us how he made them. He then let us know of a few other wineries that we should try while we are there. That is how the love for wine has started.
Connie and Mike put on the most amazing fourth of July. The fireworks are just beautiful. In 2021 though, Trevor had to be in the field to help his dad, so for the most part I sat alone as everyone around had their loved one or a friend. Enjoying the view, I sent Trevor a message just letting him know that I wish we could watch together. Without even knowing it he came running up. I thought something had happened, but it was him coming to sit with me to enjoy the final few fireworks. I was so happy that he was able to sit with me for at least a few minutes.
