Things To Do

We're super excited to have everyone explore the city we love! We put together our personal Top 10 of Richmond, and included places we frequent most often, and places closest to the hotel, but please feel free to explore everything!
Hotel Greene

Hotel Greene

508 East Franklin Street, Richmond, VA 23219

Less than 5 blocks from Linden Row, a nice walk to an indoor putt-putt venue. It used to be the restaurant for the John Marshall Hotel which opened in 1929 and hosted guests like Elvis and Elizabeth Taylor. Now it's mini golf for you!

Belle Isle Suspension Bridge

Belle Isle Suspension Bridge

Belle Isle Parking Lot, Tredegar St, Richmond, VA 23219, Richmond, VA 23219

About a mile south of Linden Row. The Suspension Bridge gives you a beautiful view of the James River, and should you be feeling adventurous, it connects you to Belle Isle, a great place to hike, explore, picnic, and sit on the rocks by the water.

Carytown

Carytown

3005 W Cary St., Richmond, VA 23221

Less than a 10 min. drive, "Carytown is a colorful, bohemian district centered around a stretch of West Cary Street, with indie boutiques, record stores, and vintage emporiums. Quirky murals brighten alleyways and buildings housing cool cafes, bakeries, and health-conscious lunch spots, while evening crowds fill farm-to-table restaurants and craft cocktail bars. Operating since 1928, the Byrd Theater screens movies in opulent surroundings." Some of our favorites: - Ashby (clothing thrift store) - Bygones (vintage 1920s clothes and accessories) - Mongrel (lots of local Richmond swag, fun pop culture things) - One Eyed Jaques (boardgame/puzzle store) - Plan 9 Records (record store) - World of Mirth (toy store)

The Park RVA

The Park RVA

2601 Durham St., Richmond, VA 23220

The Park is one of Richmond's newest entertainment destinations. At 55,000 sqft it boasts Virginia's longest bar, duckpin bowling, a karaoke room, 2 indoor mini-golf courses, and 5 food court style dining options.

Science Museum of Virginia

Science Museum of Virginia

2500 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23220

Our Science Museum is awesome. One of my favorite exhibits is "Speed." You can race against a variety of animals and people, see how fast you can throw a baseball, play air hockey with a robot, and watch yourself make ridiculous faces in slow motion :)

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

200 North Arthur Ashe Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220

When we first moved back to Richmond we lived a few blocks from the VMFA. The Sculpture Garden is a great place to bring a book or have morning coffee and relax. The exhibits that come through have been incredible. Worth checking out! Opened in 1936, and considered among the largest art museums in North America for area of exhibition space, the VMFA's comprehensive art collection includes African art, American art, British sporting art, Fabergé, and Himalayan art.

Maymont

Maymont

1700 Hampton St., Richmond, VA 23220

Maymont is a 100-acre Victorian estate and public park. It contains Maymont Mansion, now a historic house museum, an arboretum, formal gardens, a carriage collection, native wildlife exhibits, a nature center, and Children's Farm. The Japanese Gardens and Italian Rose Gardens are beautiful.

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery - Richmond

One of Richmond's most well known brewery's, Hardywood has two locations. The original, being about 2.5 miles south of our home :) This taproom is in Richmond's Historic German Brewing District. They have an outdoor beer garden, Pizza Kitchen, and an eclectic mix of live music and community events that are free to the public and open to all ages. Other breweries in Richmond: - Bingo Beer Company - The Veil Brewing Company - Main Line Brewery - Tabol Brewing - Strangeways Brewing - Three Notch'd Brewing Company - Isley Brewing Company

Riverfront Canal Walk

Riverfront Canal Walk

1201 Haxall Point, Richmond, VA 23219

About a mile away the Canal Walk is a great place to explore. There are bike's you can rent, boat tours you can take, and awesome murals to find. Main St. Station is a cool place to wander in as well :)
