How We Met

October 21, 2017

We met on a dating app online. (Isn't that how all the cool kids do it these days?) After texting for about a week we decided to meet in person. We should've known we were on our way to something special when our first date lasted for 12 hours! We did it all - bowling, dinner, drinks, and Subodh's favorite - Bollywood clubbing! We aren't sure if we should count it as one really long first date or as 3 regular dates in one day, but it sure was fun!

The Proposal

January 19, 2019

We went up to New Hampshire for a long weekend. We were super excited but a little concerned as the forecast called for a major snowstorm that evening/into the next day. It caused us to change plans slightly - rather than go on a sleigh ride the next day, we went on one that evening. Our sleigh ride was supposed to have other people on it (Subodh was hoping for that so people could take pictures) but no one else signed up for our time so we were totally alone! The conditions were perfect - it was snowing lightly, the area was beautifully lit, and we had champagne to sip! Our driver would stop periodically to talk to us/point our certain landmarks. Our final stop was at a tiny chapel in the woods, where our driver stated weddings and vow renewals took place. Subodh thought that was a perfect place to get out and propose! We walked into the chapel where he pulled a rose out of his jacket. He then unzipped his jacket to reveal a shirt that read, "Jessica Will You Marry Me?" He got down on one knee, and the rose opened up to reveal the ring! He almost forgot to ask the actual question but luckily I reminded him! And of course my answer was yes! He then revealed that he had a shirt for me as well that said, "I said yasss". - hysterical! We finished the ride and went inside. (It was romantic but we were starting to freeze!) I put on my shirt and we had fun taking pictures and enjoying the moment!
