We met on Tiktok. Steve uploaded a video of him lip-synching " I knew you were trouble " by Taylor Swift. Jessica hadn't heard that song before but she wanted to duet it so she did. Out of all the duets Jess's video caught his attention so he decided to message her. A few months later after talking back and forth online Steve flew to Oregon to meet Jessica and she ended up returning to Ohio with him.

Easter morning Steve took Jessica on a surprise hot air balloon ride. He had this planned for several weeks but the weather was not cooperating. Thirty minutes into the ride Steve got down on his knee and said " Ever since I first met you, my head has been in the clouds. Your love keeps taking me higher and higher. I want nothing more than to soar with you in the future. I love you, Jess will you marry me? He presented her with a black onyx ring. Jessica thought it was so beautiful and shed a few tears. She said Yes!
