Jess was interning at the Jewish Community Center, a gym Spencer had worked at for over five years as a personal trainer. They both immediately caught each other's eye. Spencer asked his good friend, Jack, "who's that?" Similarly, Jess thought to herself after overhearing Spencer talking about his doctoral program, "that's the type of man I should marry - someone intelligent." They sparked up a conversation that lasted three hours and the rest was history. From trying to speed date before Spencer moved to Arizona, to road tripping around the Western United States, they fell in love fast. Instantly connecting over their love for healthy lifestyles and a desire to travel. Spencer joined Jess on a return visit to England to ask permission from her father, Mike, in October. He was so nervous that he forgot to unclip his shoes from the bike, falling to the ground before he could ask the question. In Mike's words, "[he] could not dream of a better man to marry his daughter". One week later, during a 5am, sunrise hike to the top of Cathedral Rock in Arizona, Jess was stunned when Spencer got down on one knee at the top of an energy vortex with an intricate ring that he designed himself, and a photographer to catch the beautiful moment. This was the first time that Jess was actually lost for words; Spencer savored this rare moment of peace. Spencer working as a Physical Therapist and Jess as a Fitness Coordinator and Yoga instructor, the couple hope to improve the lives of those around them through their professions, and eventually start a family recognizing a healthy lifestyle and a passion for travel. Jess and Spencer are so excited to celebrate with all their closest friends and family and thank everyone for sharing this moment with them.
