Here is a sample list for a day hike in Yosemite - Sturdy hiking boots, preferably water resistant - Warm and cold clothing layers. Leggings, a long sleeve shirt, a short sleeve tee, a rain jacket, tall socks, gloves, a hat. It's going to be really cold in the morning and maybe heat up in the early afternoon. Layers are important! - A small backpack - 1-2 bottles of water - Snacks like protein bars, granola bars, nuts, fruit - Sunglasses - Sunscreen - Bug Spray - Headlamp or flash light - Plastic bags for trash - Toilet Paper/Baby Wipes If you're going the after party, a separate evening outfit.
We are driving up on Friday. The hike is Saturday at 3am, so it's okay if you come late on Friday. Make sure to check that the entrance gates do not close at a certain time.
The entrance fee is $35 per car. The entrance fee is included if you have a yearly national parks pass.
So we can see the sunrise and so we can take pictures without a bunch of people in the background!
Our hike will be Artist Point Trail (2.3 miles). Our awesome wedding planner/photographer/and hiking guide is Sarah from Sarah Linda Photography.
The brunch after the hike is our treat to our guests, everything is included! You are more than welcome to head home after the brunch. If you want to come to the after party, we were planning on grabbing dinner at Base Camp Eatery. Base Camp Eatery is across the street from the hotel we plan to stay in. The food ranges from pizza, burgers, and other basic American cuisine. Everything is around $10. We plan to head to The Ahwahnee Bar after, a bar in a fancy hotel with lovely drinks.
We don't need anything, we're just happy to have you there! We opened up a registry, but it's not necessary!
