Jessica and Jose first became acquainted on Super Bowl Sunday, February 1st, 2015. Their dear friend Aaron Rodriguez, after opening up his apartment to Jose the year prior, decided Jose was cool enough to begin introducing him to his larger group of friends. Little did Aaron know, however, that by doing so, he would be connecting two individuals who were destined to be together, por vida. Jose and Jessica gradually began to recognize that they were right for each other. For instance, Jessica completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara; which, as you know, is the place that Jose so proudly boasts that he is from. Additionally, Jessica became an employee of the University of California, stationed in UC's office in Washington, D.C., which is the precise building that Jose lived out of when he first moved to Washington, D.C., while still in college. They often joke about perhaps crossing paths before meeting. Later that year, Jose and Jessica, found each other once again, this time at an annual gathering celebrating the Holiday season, and it was there that the two decided to exchange telephone numbers. Not long after, on a cold evening near George Washington University, Jose mustered the courage to ask Jessica if she would do him the honor of being his 'novia'. As Jose and Jessica proceeded to familiarize themselves with one another, they realized that their differences, much like their similarities, allowed for growth and progression as citizens of the world. Throughout the course of their relationship, Jessica and Jose have been blessed with an outpour of support from friends and family. When planning their wedding, both Jessica and Jose are consistently reminded of the power of friendship, the graciousness of family, and the faith of community. It is their hope that you will join them on December 30, 2021 for an afternoon of love and an evening of dancing in order to celebrate their matrimony.
