"We Met Over a Dead Body"

In their first year of medical school, Jessica and Nathan were assigned to the same anatomy lab "tank group." Over hours of cadaver dissection, they respected each other greatly as friends, and appreciated their significant differences. For instance, Jessica had to slowly convert Nate, once a competitive *sniff* road biker, to the gnarliest of mountain bike trails, some of which their wedding venue harkens to. Moreover, the epic and universal call for the dissolution of bipartisanship (and perhaps of religious exclusivism) hadn't quite unearthed itself yet, and let's just say if you mixed their colors together, you would get a bright purple. Neither of them expected their friendship to grow into something deeper. When Nate escorted Jess in his - let's say "weathered" 1995 Jeep Cherokee on a road trip to Jackson, they made it out alive by the skin of their teeth. Engine smoking down the freeway. Jessica knew around that moment, a strapping farm-girl at heart, that this boy could teach her a thing or two and she could him. And oh how they've learned over the past six years! For some reason, Nate agreed to take on a fur child with Jess during their first year together. United in Mesa, we stand. When medical school closed out, Nathan was led to Las Vegas for emergency medicine residency and Jessica to El Paso for OBGYN. They put their relationship to the test, enduring two years of long-distance, knowing it would make or break them. They like to think about their relationship like they do their bikes: a vehicle providing the opportunity to work hard, have fun, sometimes get the metaphorical shit beat out of you, and most importantly - be together in love.
