Jessica and Matt grew up around the block from each other in Baldwin, NY. Though, surrounded by mutual friends, they did not become friends until college and eventually that friendship turned into more towards the end of 2015.

Matt and Jessica went to the beach during the day to get a head start on Jessica's 30th Birthday celebrations. Matt surprised Jessica at their apartment by popping the question! Later in the day, Matt continued to surprise Jess with a party at her parent's house to celebrate her birthday and their engagement.
