Where it all began...

Kai and I met about 4 and a half years ago while playing together on an Adult Indoor Soccer Team in Harker Heights, TX. I had just moved back to Texas from Virginia the prior summer and I was going through a tough time and struggling to have much of a social life. I found an adult soccer league nearby and signed up for a coed team, which unbeknownst to me happened to have an extremely attractive, talented, German-born soccer player already on the team! For about the first 2 or 3 games I could only remember one name out of all of my teammates: Kai. 🤣😂🤣 I don't know if it was his ruggedly handsome good looks, his mad skills on the soccer field, the fact that his name only has 3 letters, or just a horrible memory on my part but his name definitely stood out above the rest. We quickly became friends as we shared a few things in common (their names were Corona and Michelob Ultra) and we often would stay after our games to hang out, take turns bringing a few drinks to share, and watch other teams play. It became an after-game ritual for us that eventually lead to sitting in Kai's car after the games had ended listening to music and just talking about anything and everything. Friday night games became the highlight of my week and I knew it had more to do with Kai than my love for soccer. From the first time we met, there was this unexplainable magnetism between Kai and I that I had never experienced before: it just felt like we absolutely belonged together. Several months later my attraction towards Kai had only strengthened. So after a long hard week of teaching in May, I asked Kai to hang out outside of soccer with the excuse that it was Cinco de Mayo and I needed to celebrate. We met at Carolina Alehouse and after enough tequila was consumed, I told Kai I had a crush on him and that admission started the greatest adventure of my life. Kai and I now have a beautiful daughter together and finally are able to celebrate our love with our family and friends!
