You know the old story—you log into LiveJournal in search of more information about your new favorite J-pop band, and end up stumbling across your future wife… Jessica and Julia first met online in 2013 in discussions about the band KAT-TUN. In late 2013, when Jessica decided to take the plunge and travel to Japan to see one of KAT-TUN’s concerts in person, it was Julia who helped her navigate the arcane world of J-pop ticket sales, and the two of them finally had the opportunity to meet up in person, along with a number of other fans from around the world who would become close friends and comrades in arms for future concert trips. Despite living on different continents, Jessica and Julia stayed in contact and continued to meet up on various concert trips in 2014, 2015, and 2016. In July of 2016, while they were traveling the Japanese countryside with friends following a Jin Akanishi tour, things took a turn, and they began a bi-continental relationship. In 2018, Jessica packed up her life in Minneapolis and moved to Germany, where she and Julia were married in a civil ceremony so that she could secure residency and work legally in the country. In the summer of 2019, on the one-year anniversary of their wedding, Jessica proposed to Julia “for realz this time”—and now they’re excitedly looking forward to celebrating their commitment with family and friends, as they set off on the next phase of their life together. ~ * ~ ONE LOVE 「未来のタメへ」と EVERY TIME もっと 強くなれる SUNSHINE 陽はまた昇って… 心は きっと 踏み出すNEW WORLD OH...
