Back in 2017, Jessica walked into church for the first time in a long time, and it became the place where she truly came to Christ. Among the group of friends she met there was Josh—who had recently moved from Ohio to New Jersey. From the very beginning, the two became inseparable. After a year and a half, Josh moved back to Ohio, but the bond never faded. What started as friendship grew into best friendship, and in 2025 that friendship blossomed into something even deeper. Now, after years of laughter, prayers, and countless memories, we’re stepping into forever—together.
This past year brought a lot of changes for me, and through it all Josh had been gently encouraging me to come visit him in Ohio. While he was dropping hints, I wasn’t quite picking up on them. What I didn’t know was that Josh had been praying about this for a long time, and even his parents and pastor had been in on the secret for months. One day, Josh felt the Spirit clearly telling him, “It’s time.” On a phone call soon after, he finally asked the question that had been on his heart: “How do you feel about being more than friends?” Without hesitation, I nervously laughed and replied, “I’ve had feelings for you since 2017!” And just like that, years of friendship blossomed into the love story God had been writing all along.
When Josh came to town to meet some of my friends, I thought it was just another fun night together. What I didn’t know was that he had already been secretly planning a surprise engagement party with the help of Alex, Maaty, and Manny. That night we started playing a silly game of “What’s in the Box?” After a few funny rounds with everyone else, it was finally my turn. But when I went to look for the box… there wasn’t one. Instead, there was Josh on one knee, asking me the easiest question I’ll ever answer.
