Jeff and I met on Match.com October 2014. Our first official date was November 8th, 2014. We went to Longwood Gardens and then out to dinner and drinks in West Chester. It was honestly the best first date. I remember everything about it. Jeff proposed November 8th, 2019. It was our 5 year anniversary. The weekend before he was hinting at proposing. I thought, maybe he will do it Saturday when we are at Longwood Gardens! Throughout the week, he would say things that made me think otherwise. By the end of the week I told myself: "Don't get your hopes up. It's not going to happen. Enjoy a no kid day with Jeff." When I got home from work, it was spotless. Which was not the way it was when I left that morning. No one greeted me at the door, not even our dog, Noelle. Jeff came out of our room in a nice sweater, jeans and his hair done. I said, "Where are you going dressed like that?" He said, " I'm just going to the neighbors to drop off Ocean." He came over, gave me a hug and kiss and said alot of sweet things to me. He then said he had gotten me a present for our anniversary. I got so mad! I didn't get him anything. We said we weren't doing gifts. He pulled me into the living room, in front of the couch and said, "Close your eyes. No peeking!" I heard him get Ocean and then go into our room and open his bedside table. The whole time, I was thinking it's going to be a new Michael Kors purse. The black over the shoulder one I've been wanting and talking about. It will go great with my outfit tomorrow. A few seconds later, he grabs my left hand and says, " Ok, you can open your eyes." I opened my eyes and he was on one knee with the ring in his hand. "Will you marry me?" I immediately started crying. I couldn't answer him for a few seconds. "Sooo... is that a yes or no?" I said "YES!" We hugged and cried - more me than him. I cannot wait to be Mrs. Whitworth!
