Jack and Jessica first met when they both ended up in the D2 suite in Douglas Hall during their sophomore year at Whitman College in 2012. Along with their suitemates Alex, Adrienne, and Marci (and honorary suitemate Hannah), they and the rest of DSquared would spend their college careers watching stupid movies, playing Monkeyball and Beatles Rock Band, and sometimes studying. During the fall of their senior year, Jack and Jessica started dating (with the help of the iconic film Pacific Rim). They then decided to keep a good thing going upon moving back to Seattle after graduation. Jack supported Jessica as she made it through three years of graduate school at UW. After that, they made it through four years of long distance as Jack went to medical school in Chicago and Jessica worked for the state legislature in Olympia. In 2022, Jack started residency at OHSU, and they moved in together in Vancouver, WA. After a year where they adopted two cats, survived 12-hour shifts in the ICU and an in-person legislative session (including a daily 100-mile one-way commute), and remembered what it was like to live in the same time zone, they decided it was time to tie the knot. During a trip to Hawaii where they swam with manta rays, hiked across a volcano, and traded off catching COVID, Jack asked, and Jessica said yes. Now, after nearly ten years together, Jack and Jessica are getting married -- and are so excited to celebrate with all of our friends and family!
