Wedding Party

William Lain

Best Man

Will celebrated his first fathers day the same year he is celebrating (and officiating) his favorite brother's wedding! This year he is also about to begin his residency for Vascular Surgery in Cleveland which is great for my natural high blood pressure. His favorite sporting event is Mascot's Day so he's very excited to visit the Lake County Captains and finally meet the 6 foot 6 Horatio.

Samuel Lain

Best Man

The youngest Lain who all of us used to say was adopted because he has blonde hair. Don't let the picture fool you, like Horatio (see to the left), he's also 6-6 ladies!! Sam recently graduated Colorado College and is about to move up to Chicago to start bleeding Lake Michigan dry to power his AI computers. He also is pretty god damn good at Pickle Ball!

Jack Childress

Groomsman

My oldest friend that I can remember. We met after I moved to Lexington and I would get in trouble for wondering the school hallways so often I wasn't allowed to go to the bathroom without a chaperone. His family's favorite pastime is making fun of how I dress or calling me pumpkin head. He recently moved to Indy and is a slinging medical salesman who owns the midwest. Big Buckeyes fan which would annoy me as a BIG10 alumni but MSU is so bad at football it doesn't really matter (keep choppin).

Parker Gann

Groomsman

Met him on a hot summers day when we were in middle school and our whole lives were ahead of us. Parker had recently moved to Lexington and the two-hand touch football game officially ended when we collided and one of us (I think him) started crying. Since then his parents' basement alcohol collection has been a frequent stomping ground of ours and he currently brings cocktail-kegs to your favorite sporting event and runs Chicago. Don't ask him about how he got the scar on top of his head.

Colin Smith

Groomsman

To be clear thats not me on the left thats a random woman I captured celebrating her first game at the Garden with Colin. Met Colin at MSU at the historic Pancake House and since then I've been kicking his ass at NHL. Him and his Brooklyn boys adopted me when I moved to NYC and ever since I've been sitting on his couch watching Redzone or up at 6am to watch a Rugby game I know nothing about. His new favorite hobby is subbing me out in crunch time of our rec-league basketball games. He gets sick easily so please wear a mask around him.

Joshua Chung

Groomsman

This is me and Chung at the NBA finals. He's also a fellow MSU alum who is a ball knower when all of our friends hate on the Association (he was a Heat fan -> Warriors -> now Knicks... so yeah). Through the good times and through the times Chung falls asleep outside on the streets of NYC, me Jess and Chung have become three peas in a pod. If I am ever out on the town and not answering my texts from Jessica, she knows Chung will keep his eye on me. He's also Hazel's godfather.

Rachel Langeneker

Maid of Honor

Sister, Sissy, and Hope are really the only names you'll ever hear Rachel call me. Jessica got thrown out the window years ago, unless I drank her last Olipop, ate her last GF waffle, or didn't text back fast enough (yes, mostly food related offenses, and yes, I am the worst with my phone). Rachel accomplished so much this year and I am beyond proud of her. She graduated from SVSU with a Bachelor's in Sociology and absolutely slayed the day with a 4.0. Those of you with a sister know there is no amount of fighting, distance, or hardship that could change what we have. We have been through everything under the sun and come out the other side every single time. Thankful we've grown from pulling each other's hair to being each other's biggest supporters, and even more thankful for a sister who can make me laugh until I am on the floor with tears streaming down my face. There is truly nobody like her.

Jamie (Jay) Streng

Bridesmaid

Jay Jay! Some of you may know her as Jamie, but not around here. Please, only Jay Jay. Jay and I met randomly through an old friend back in 2016 (almost a decade, someone celebrate us). I was transferring from community college in Saginaw to MSU and someone mentioned "a girl from the Freeland soccer team is going to MSU and needs a roommate, here's her Twitter" (lol). Our friendship blossomed fast, like within the first month fast, and I cannot believe I wasted so many years living literally 15 minutes from her and we didn't become best friends the day she was born. She has been there for every high and every low, and I genuinely do not know how I got so lucky. I cannot wait until we can eventually afford to buy that adjoining house in a mystery location, and I will not rest until we get there.

Leah Hashisaka

Bridesmaid

And then there was my special, special Leah. I was graced by her presence when she arrived on crutches at Hannah Lofts, our first apartment at MSU. She came in as she always does, a chef, a baker, and a force of nature, and just like that our threesome was complete: Leah, Jay, and Jess. I basically followed Leah to NYC, and I'll never forget turning the corner outside our apartment in Union Square mid-tour and running smack into the one and only Leah Hashisaka. She has a way of showing up even when I am in full hibernation mode and pulling me back out into the world. She knows the crabby, the snippy, and the really good parts of me and loves me through all of it. And yes, she will obviously also be at that mystery location too.

Ellie Olszewski

Bridesmaid

In case you're curious, me and Ellie are the only reason Snapchat is still in business. As I am typing this we are at a 2,266 day streak (no one freak out, it sounds insane but we will never change it). Ellie and I met at MSU when we both chose to major in Hospitality Business...lol. We weathered extra semesters, COVID, layoffs, and moving back home separately but emotionally together. Ellie knows the most exciting and the most boring parts of my life, and if she doesn't wake up to something from me it is a cause for concern. She has seen many versions of me and shown up for every single one. Hospitality Business did us dirty in every way except this one.

Emily Lain

Bridesmaid

Hello soon to be sister in law! Thank you for always letting me chat your ear off about everything, whether it is Henry, life, work, or the latest drama, you always pick up. You are the best sister the Lain boys could have ever asked for. I swear Henry only became protective of me because of the brotherly protectiveness he has always had around you. Thank you for always opening Pittsburgh up to us, being the best auntie to Miss Hazel, letting Gus be the best cousin, and for having the exact same taste in music (cue Labour).

Lauren Lain

Bridesmaid

And hello to my second soon to be sister in law! The kindest, softest, and warmest girly I have ever met. Thank you for welcoming me into the Lain significant other group in the best way so many years ago. Your voice actually calms my soul, and when you start doing yoga again I truly believe you and Rachel could host a class together and it would be amazing. Love watching you and Lily, the first baby in the fam!
