FAQs

Question

Who is included in the invitation?

Answer

The people whose names are listed on the invitation are invited. Unfortunately, we have not been able to invite most children, and are unable to offer an open "plus one" option.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

June 20 is the official RSVP by date, but if you know earlier please let us know ASAP.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We plan to open the doors at 1:30. The ceremony is planned to start at 2:30. Due to how difficult parking can be in Carytown, we strongly recommend you come at least 30-45 minutes early. There will be plenty of people to visit with if you come early.

Question

Where can I park?

Answer

The Richmond Chapel is located in Carytown, a busy tourist area in Richmond. There is street parking in surrounding neighborhoods, as well as nearby parking decks and several free surface lots, but please allow extra time (30-45 minutes early is suggested) and consider carpooling or being dropped off if possible. If you aren't used to finding city parking, please don't underestimate how much time you may need to allow. Please consider carpooling with others if possible. Please see the website below for tips on parking near the Chapel. (Disregard the note that says not to use the nearby lot. That is specific to church services.) https://www.richmondchapel.org/parking The reception venue is approximately 20 minutes from the Chapel, and has a designated parking lot.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We request dressy casual attire, which is somewhere between casual and formal. If you want more information, here's a link! https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-dressy-casual We want you to be comfortable and have fun, so keep that in mind when choosing. Our wedding colors are wisteria, matcha, and eucalyptus (shades of light purple and green), with accents of pale yellow. We would love it if you want to sprinkle those colors into your choices, although of course this isn’t necessary.

Question

What will the reception be like?

Answer

Our reception is indoors. It will start with light appetizers, while the wedding party is taking photos. When the couple arrives, there will be dinner, dessert, games, and dancing.

Question

What’s for dinner?

Answer

Dinner will be catered by Deep Run Roadhouse. Guests will be able to select from a buffet of brisket, pulled chicken, and mushrooms for the main dish, and pick from a variety of sides. Dessert will be banana pudding and cake. We are having a dry wedding. We respectfully request that you do not consume alcohol at any wedding events. We are trying our best to include items that pork-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, alpha gal friendly, vegetarian, and vegan. We want everyone to find something they can enjoy, and will provide more information here if it becomes available.

Question

Is there anything else to know about the registry?

Answer

The registry has its own page, but here is information we want to make sure you see. There is an Amazon registry and a Zola fund registry. The Amazon list can send items directly to us or to another address if you edit it. *Please note that you can contribute toward an item without buying the whole item, which is why we have several more expensive items listed.* The Zola fund is called "Living in Two Countries Fund." If you would like to contribute toward Gord's immigration fees or our travel expenses (plane tickets, pet sitters, etc) while we live in two countries for probably several months after the wedding, this is so appreciated! And of course, your presence at our wedding and your support and prayers are the best gifts!
