The couple was originally introduced through Ethan's brother, Derek, who had just started working at the school where Jessica worked. Derek was certain they would be a perfect match, but Jessica wasn't looking for a relationship and was instead healing from the death of her father earlier that year. However, Ethan and Jessica started talking over the phone and found out they were alike in many ways. Both were ex-theater kids, enjoyed playing Pokemon, and shared personal values that aligned in a way that could not be denied. After meeting at one of Ethan's family game nights, there was no turning back. The two fell in love and are each other's best friends. Meeting during the pandemic meant a lot of their early "dates" were spent at home. The two would get creative to keep things fun by cooking dinner together, creating art out of clay or paints, and playing games. When the world started opening up again, it was exciting to go explore new places and try new things together. Through the last couple years, Ethan and Jessica have built a life of friends, family, and hobbies that bring so much fun and happiness. The two of them are so excited for the wedding and cannot wait to celebrate their lasting love with everyone!
For their one year anniversary, Ethan planned a trip to Saratoga, WY where he and Jess could enjoy a relaxing weekend at the hot springs. On their way to the resort, the pair stopped in Medicine Bow National Forest to hike around and see all the changing autumn leaves. It was beautiful and, naturally, a picture was needed. Ethan asked a random group of people to take their picture in front of the picturesque lake and mountains. As they did, Ethan got down on one knee and proposed (spoiler: Jessica said "yes"). The lady taking the picture figured out what was happening and actually captured the whole thing on video. Afterwards a group that was picnicking nearby did a "cheers" to celebrate the occassion!
