We met during the 2017, Sonoma Valley fires. Both of us were working at Hanna Boys Center and have not met one another until the fires happened. A week after the fires we went back to work and Efren asked me if I would go to the laundry mat to do the boys clothes with him. We started talking about his adorable daughter and next thing I knew he asked me for my number, "just in case the fires get worse and he needs to call me" as he goes back to Hanna for soap. Clever man! We started to hangout and the next thing we know. We were falling in love!

Efren took me to the first winery we visited in Ashland, Oregon, Belle Fiore. We were early for our reservation and he wanted to take a walk around the vineyards. Efren started to talk about how our dog Lucky scratched his boots I got him, and he wanted to get a new pair. I did not even notice that Efren was down on one knee! He said, "what better time than now to ask you this, will you marry me?" I said, "wait really? Yes!!!"
