Let's celebrate

Eckhart and Jessica met in youth group, likely around middle school. They weren't exactly close--but friends nonetheless (although Jessica couldn't even remember they were both on the leadership team together). After high school, Eckhart went out of state for his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Jessica stayed in town for college but then moved to Oregon after graduating to serve with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Eckhart and Jessica then reconnected when they both moved back to Seattle the in summer of 2019--Eckhart to work with their home church, ECC, and Jessica to serve the UW chapter of IV. As the only two young adults working in full time ministry within their group of friends, they found a lot in common. They started to bond more over happy hours, painting the church's youth room, Fridays off and netflix shows. Middle school Jessica and Eckhart could never have imagined that they would one day be married (in fact, they might have even cringed at the idea). Nonetheless, they are incredibly grateful for the individual paths they took that led them be the best partner for each other when they eventually reunited. This is only the beginning of a wonderful journey for the two of them. In the fall following their wedding, they will move to Oxford for Eckhart to pursue his doctorate degree in Theology for the next three years. Jessica will continue to work with InterVarsity in a remote capacity part time as well as find additional work once they are there. They are looking forward to exploring a new country, travelling around Europe and hopefully hosting many visitors.
