How we met

We met on Hinge and started talking for months as I was in nursing school and was extremely busy, so I did not have time to come back home until spring break. When we finally got to meet it was in Columbus at a park when Dylan cooked meal prep chicken and rice and I bought Alanis for us to drink. When I arrived Dylan gifted me with a red rose and this was due to the fact that we had spent the last couple months watching The Bachelor "together" virtually. After receiving the gift I could not come empty handed and reciprocated a gift back to him being a Axe and Sledge gym shirt. After we barely ate our dinner due to nerves, we decided to go bowling as we did not want the date to end. He was from southern ohio and I was going to school in northern ohio, over 4 hours away from each other so we knew this was an opportunity few and far between. We continued to do long distance for 2 years planning trips to see each other here and there. All the way up until I graduated, came back to columbus, and started my nursing job until I found out the amazing news that he was moving up here to find a "new electrical company to work for" only to find out when we got up here he said it was only really to be closer to me.

Proposal

We originally had a trip planned to South Carolina until the hurricane hit and our trip was canceled. There was more behind the scenes to the trip as this is where the proposal was suppose to happen. We have always wanted to visit a beautiful chapel out in South Carolina and this was where it was going to be done. This was not Gods plan; however, as we replanned our trip to Illinois in Shawnee National Forest there was so many beautiful trails we wanted to go on, the one we were most excited for was Garden of the Gods. This was planned on Sunday when we woke up had coffee and pancakes out on the patio of our airbnb. Until we left on our drive out in the middle of no where. Can not lie felt awkwardly quiet in car but thought we were both just enjoying the pretty natural around us. As we got out and headed up on a mountain we sat a peak to read our Bibles until we decided to get a self timer video, as we had been doing all weekend on the other trails, but this one was very different as this is right when the proposal happened.
