The Mansion & Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Jessica Hastings and Drew Nolan
A TIMELESS GOLD COAST ESTATE The Mansion at Glen Cove began its story in 1910 as “The Manor,” a grand Georgian-style mansion set on a 55-acre estate built for John Teele Pratt and his wife Ruth Baker Pratt, a prominent attorney and New York congresswoman. Designed by renowned architect Charles A. Platt, the estate was celebrated as one of the finest country homes in America and a hallmark of Long Island’s legendary Gold Coast. In the late 1920s, the estate gained national prominence when it served as the Summer White House for President Herbert Hoover, hosting political leaders and dignitaries during his presidency. Following Ruth Pratt’s passing in 1965, the property was transformed into one of the nation’s first dedicated conference centers, known as Harrison House, further cementing its place in American history. Today, the estate stands beautifully preserved, blending its storied past with timeless elegance and architectural grandeur. 💛💛💛 THINGS TO DO
