We met at Dominic's brother's engagement party. We were standing outside, and Dominic said something about having helped make the centerpieces for the party, and I turned towards him and blurted out 'Where have you been my whole life?'. After a short chat, I went inside, and by the time I got back to my table, he had left me a note at my seat. I wrote him back, and promised him my phone number depending on how good his toast to the bride & groom would be. After a lot of back-and-forth, we agreed to meet for our first date. And it just clicked. The next year was followed with priceless memories. There were first kisses, big moves, failed lasagnas, and lots of nights spent by the fire. We knew this was something, so we jumped right in, and moved in together in the Spring. That’s pretty much when we thought, “Okay. This could really be something.”
Just over one year after we first met, Dominic proposed. I was coming home from a day out with the girls, and I found a rose attached to our front door with a letter saying 'This is the beginning of your treasure hunt,' and an address written below it. What followed was a treasure hunt around town, bringing me to places we would bring our future children, to where my father would walk me down the aisle, to where we would get our first puppy. When I finally made it back home to him, where he was waiting, I was lead downstairs by a trail of daisies and rose petals. The basement was filled with candles, and music from a cd I had made him when we first starting dating was playing in the background. He sat me down, and read me the sweetest letter. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee. I jumped into his arms, and said "YES" immediately. We were officially engaged. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in 2022!
