Some people still think its really sketchy to meet someone on an online dating site and I guess to each their own. I wasn't terribly excited about online dating but I had friends who insisted they not do it alone. Facebook dating was announced and my friends insisted we try it. Our accounts were set up before the site even went live. Maybe 2 weeks after it went live a friend of mine was swiping through guys on my account and matched with Devin and like 4 other guys. I started talking to 2 of them. I thought the other guy was really interesting. Devin asked me out first, so he got a date. We started talking on a Wednesday and that Saturday morning he drove from Auburn, Indiana to Bryan, Ohio (about a 45 minute drive) to have brunch with me before we both went to work. I couldn't tell you much of what we talked about or what he was wearing. I could tell you that for the first hour (yes you read that right THE FIRST HOUR) we both just sat there being bluntly honest with each other trying to scare the other off. I could tell you that didn't work. I could tell you that going to Seasons Bistro and Coffee shop on 10/12/2019 was the best decision I ever made. I met this amazing human who was everything I didn't know to ask for. Its been almost 2 years and I can't imagine life without him and pretty soon I won't ever have to.

Waking up this morning, it was raining. As the drops pelted the window, it reminded me of a date that I had two years ago. Normally on cold rainy days I am a huge fan of big fluffy blankets & cups of cocoa with a good book. Devin had planned a date for the 3 of us for me to meet Austin for the first time. As we went in to do the Go Karts Austin did not speak to me unless prompted by Devin. After the third & final set of races, he was proud to announce that he & Daddy had won all the races & would need winner photos & I could take them. Devin offered that he'd also planned for us to go to the ceramics painting place & if I was still interested in going despite the rain that they'd enjoy me going with them. I love crafts so of course I had to go. Little did Devin know, I had a secret weapon. I had an Umbrella. As I got out of my car with my polka dot umbrella Austins eyes lit up. He ran over to hold my hand (he said it was to help hold the umbrella) & stated that he liked me & would be walking in with me to keep his head not wet. As we walked in Austin was a complete jabber box deciding he was doing every project. In the end I chose a J, Devin a smiley face bank, & Austin a football to paint. We picked out colors & sat to begin to paint. I confident & straightforward in my design and Austin wild & with a fervor that only a 5 year old can muster. It quickly became apparent however that Devin was going to be a perfectionist. Austin had little patience for waiting for the next step so I took him over to use with my second secret weapon. The Hairdryer. Austins giggles ringing through the shop as we dried his football for the next stage of painting & for the rest of our fun. We both still finished much sooner than Devin & sat watching Daddy paint while Austin told me all about Paw Patrol & weekends with Daddy & what he had for breakfast. An Umbrella & a Hairdryer & connecting with an adorable little boy. That's how I spent that rainy day, and it was my favorite rainy day.

Coffee at Seasons in Bryan, Ohio. Where was your first kiss? The Parking Lot of Zianos in Fort Wayne. Who initiated your first kiss? Devin.... Maybe we should tell this story.
