We officially met online. We talked for a few days and decided to meet up for our first official date. We went to a hole in the wall sports bar in Arlington called Mavericks. David was so nervous that he just gave me a hug even though he wanted to kiss me. From that night on we would talk, text and hang out. But at that time we both were not really ready for a relationship so we became friends. This continued for about 2 years and several things changed in both of our lives that we finally decided to make us an official couple after going to a concert to see Alabama. From there, it's been a whirlwind romance. We are each other's best friends.
On my 33rd birthday, just 12 days after graduating college with my bachelor's degree in business, we went to my papa's house with some family to have dinner and cake. My mom was still in town for her visit and David and her spent the morning running errands. David asked for her permission that morning and she gave her blessing, which was very important to me. So, we ate dinner and then enjoyed some awesome cake with Beauty and the Beast on it. Everyone then left since it was getting late and David sat next to me and pulled out the ring. He got down on one knee with my mom and papa in the room and proposed. And of course I said yes!
