Collin and I met at Lockport Township High School when we were 16 through one of my best friends turn bridesmaid (Shout out to Shelby Cook), who slipped Collin my phone number after he had noticed me in the stands at a football game. For our first official date he picked me up in a 1994 Honda Accord, a.k.a the sox mobile, blasting Avenged Sevenfold all the way to 5 guys. Not a hint of romance or trying to impress me, but I didn't care because I learned right then this man was so unapologetically himself and I loved that about him and still do! The last 8 years together have been the best of our lives and we're so excited to start the next chapter as a family of 2+4 paws.
Collin took me out on a typical Friday night "date-night", except when I let him know I was starving and wanted to change the dinner plans to somewhere closer, he continued to drive the car to downtown Naperville where we had our reservations. When I started to realize his persistence might be about something more significant than steak, I asked him straight up "Are you proposing?!" To which he replied no over and over until we parked. He had this look on his face, and grabbed his jacket (He NEVER wears a jacket) and took my hand. Thats when I truly realized this was it! He lead me to the spot he had cleared by the river and got down on one knee to ask me to be his wife! Easiest Yes of my life!
