Born and raised in Southeast Texas! I graduated from Hardin High School in 2014 and went to college that fall at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX. I studied Elementary Education and graduated in May 2018. From there I started my teaching career in Copperas Cove, TX. Little did I know that I was moving right next to Ft. Hood where I would meet Clayt.
*Update Coming Soon!*
It started with a Saturday dinner date .... of course after Clayt washed some clothes ... because he didn’t have any clean ones. LOL. We had dinner and said our goodbyes. The next morning he asked me to have breakfast, and that was the start to our friendly Sunday morning breakfasts at Henderson's in Killeen.
After being out of town for a weekend, Clayt asked me to dinner on Sunday night. (Texas Road House) He kept acting like he had something to say, but I didn't want to call him out on it. He admitted he had something to ask me....but he kept putting it off. (chickennnnn hehe) We were sitting in the car and I told him I was going to start driving if he did not ask me. (Of course I knew what he was going to ask). To answer his question, I kissed him.
We went ring shopping about a month prior. I never imagined myself with a flashy, shiny, diamond ring. When the topic came up, I showed Clayt a ring that was much more sutble, vintage, and affortable on Pinterest. He suggested that we go look in person. After trying some different rings out we found one we both loved. The clerk insisted that I hold the ring up and look at both Clayt and the ring. “This is the ring you will wear for the rest of your life, when the man you will spend the rest of your life with.” I told her I couldn’t keep looking at both or I would start crying. She gave me the ‘I told you so” look.
We were getting ready to go out shopping. I jokingly mentioned to Clayt that my outfit would only be complete if I had a certain ring to wear. (Hehe) To my surpise, he came back from the bedroom with a little box. In the middle of my one bedroom apartment with Ellie (our dog) as a witness...he asked me if I would spend the rest of my life with him and marry him. It was so simple yet just enough. I could not have asked for a better memory of this day.
