How we met

12.09.2022

For our english speakers... Our story started when we each decided to try to meet new people in that old oil field town of Midland. When we first started exchanging messages, I was not very consistent answering Brian. He never gave up though, and on December 9, 2022 we had our first real date in a Mexican restaurant, because we are in Texas and that is about all we have here. That day, as a good Latina representative, I arrived about 10 minutes late. Brian, being a good American representative, had arrived 10 minutes early and was halfway through his margarita. He had thought I had stood him up! (Much later he admitted to me that he was going to leave as soon as he finished that margarita). But I am a faithful believer in things that are meant to be and that something bigger than his slow drinking made him stay and I’m so grateful that he did, because from the moment I arrived and saw him I knew that it would not be our last date. I was too nervous because I knew that he didn't speak any Spanish (and still doesn’t) and that my venezuelan english was not very good, but when I started talking with him I realized I was in front of the sweetest and most intelligent man I could meet. The chemistry between the two of us was so noticeable and his good sense of humor made me smile so much, that made me forget about any cultural and linguistic differences between us. That day was the beginning of an incredible love story and I am more and more convinced that meeting was more than a coincidence, we were already destined to be partners for life.
