Wedding Party

We are lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives who we love and who are helping us to make our wedding possible - our wedding party is only beginning. We are grateful for those who have been tirelessly searching for antique candelabras (and turning them into the perfect centerpieces), sharing family heirlooms, helping us navigate through the religious questions and rabbi panic, sharing pieces of advice from their own weddings, dress and suit shopping, volunteering their expertise, and sharing in our excitement and celebration since we got engaged on November 1st, 2024. --- Our Wedding Party ---

Lisa Novak

Maid of Honor

The best way I can describe the friendship between Jessica and Lisa is organized CHAOS. Watching them together is amusing and scary. When they aren't plotting to take over the world by medicating everybody, they finish each other's sentences, have this weird sense of humor, and can't sit still. Aside from almost sharing a brain, they are always there for each other no matter what. I think they are very lucky to have each other in their lives. (As told by Mike Novak, Lisa's husband)

Michael Goldman

Best Man

Mike and Brett's first meeting in the womb was nothing short of legendary. Mike was practicing his best Derek Jeter slide when Brett yelled, "Careful! You're gonna spill my Kramer-approved muffin top!" Mike, confused, replied, "Wait, who are you, and why are you quoting Seinfeld?" Brett shot back, "Who am I? Who are you? And by the way, these pretzels are making me thirsty!" From that moment, they bonded over Yankees stats and perfectly-timed movie quotes, like reenacting The Godfather: "You're my wombmate, Brett. Never go against the family." They even developed their own secret language of kicks, punches, and rhythmic hiccups. Their mom had no clue why her belly kept twitching in sync but Mike and Brett? They were just in there practicing their stand-up routine. The rest, as they say, is twin history. (As told by Hayley Goldman, Mike's wife)

Aprill Nigro

Bridesmaid

Jessica and Aprill’s friendship is a bond that is based off of mutual respect, admiration and loyalty. They support each other to the fullest and is the epitome of what a lifelong friendship should be. (As told by Dan Nigro, Aprill’s husband)

Jereme Safier

Groomsman

We refer to Jereme as the third twin. He met Brett and Mike in kindergarten and immediately became part of the family. The three loved their summers at LeCamp, and when Brett and Mike moved to Florida at age 9, they still made sure they could see each other at least a couple of times a year. Brett often talks about going to Pancakes Plus with Jereme and his parents, and is probably a little disappointed that it no longer exists. As the three twins got older, their interests shifted from pancakes to beer and they have probably visited over 100 breweries together. All three also have robust, successful careers as managers of (make-believe) football AND baseball teams. Last but not least, to keep things in the family, Jessica's mother actually thinks that Jereme's wife Liz looks a lot like Jessica's sister, and Jessica has wondered at times whether Liz actually might be her long lost sister.

Megan Scorpio

Bridesmaid

Jess and Meg met in Boston in 2007, doing headstands in a hospital hallway. Meg asked Jessica for her screenname, and IM'ed her later that night. Since then, there have been few, if any, days that they haven't talked to each other. There have been adventures through Boston, Somerville, and Cambridge over the years -- from drinking champagne by the Charles River Esplanade, sleepovers with our blankies, ordering foodler back when there was nowhere outside Boston that you could use such awesome technology, to celebrating Meg's wedding in 2019, Meg & Evan cheering Jess on her marathon training 20-miler from outside their house in Brighton, Jessica's first Red Sox game, and brunches with Lucca (and Brett and Evan). They have been through their fair share of less proud moments too and have been a constant in each other's lives for 18 years, even when living 200 miles away the majority of the time. Meg is also a big part of Jessica's strong connection to Boston -- a place that is also important to Brett and important to their relationship. It should also be added that both Jess & Meg still watch Grey's Anatomy AND Law & Order (despite falling behind recently).

Stephen Gomez

Groomsman

Stephen & Brett were destined to be life partners. It seemed like fate when Gomez & Goldman entered law school at BU - the proximity of their last names to each other meant that they would be partnered in class, but it was more of an innate pull to each other that caused them to instantly connect. They shared a love of the law, bar trivia, and Massachusetts' "finest" pizza. They soon became roommates and the rest was history. After law school, they moved back to New York and pursued their first jobs. They lived further, but prioritized their friendship with happy hours at Fraunces Tavern, late nights around NY, and more bar trivia - forming a strong foundation as they continued to show up in times of fun and in the hard moments. During the pandemic, Stephen met Brett's future wife Jess, and he immediately knew how special she was to Brett. A few months later, Stephen & Brett got to to live with each other again -- rooftop BBQs, a return to nightly pizza, endless Family Guy and Star Wars, and sports cards. After, they would continue their lives with their future wives, Danielle & Jess but never lost their brotherhood. Brett officiated Stephen & Danielle's wedding and the four of them have continued a beautiful, lifelong friendship. From classmates, to friends & roommates, to brothers & life partners, their friendship is unmatched and their love extends to a galaxy far, far away. (As told by Danielle Gomez, Stephen's wife)

Jenn Pfisterer

Bridesmaid

Jenn and her friend Shira had a tradition of going to Dorney Park. In 2009, after Jessica and Shira became friends, Shira invited Jess to join them. Shira lived in Brooklyn while Jess and Jenn lived in the suburbs, so Jenn pulled up to Jessica’s driveway in her Ford Explorer, and Jessica got into the car with this stranger, it was like they were long lost friends, at first sight. Over the years, Jessica and Jenn have had many more journeys including exploring abandoned institutions, DIY triathlons, lots of frozen yogurt (she introduced Jessica to the Bloomingdales Frogurt - OMG), searching for sea glass, and making enough trouble that they were often referred to as partners in crime. They’ve always had each other’s back so much that currently, Jenn keeps tabs on Jessica’s schedule and reminds her when there’s something important because Jessica is great at ignoring notifications but she would never ignore a text from Jenn.

Andrew Nevo

Groomsman

Brett and Andy’s friendship started in 7th grade, and despite the distance, they’ve stayed besties ever since, who communicate through their unique love language—sending each other the funniest and most random memes imaginable. From embarrassing school memories to now and everything in between, their friendship proves that nothing brings people together like terrible humor and great eats. (As told by Jen Nevo, Andy’s wife)

Melissa Curra

Bridesmaid

Melissa & Jess have a unique friendship, I'd say. They don't talk every day and can go months without seeing each other, but once they do it starts as "we're just gonna get dinner, I'll be back in 3 hours" and turns into stumbling home hours later. To be honest, I don't know much about their friendship, Jess was a bridesmaid in our wedding and a friendship I know means a lot to Melissa. I think the fact that they don't have to be in constant contact but always pick up where they dropped off speaks a lot. I'm just happy she can talk about Taylor Swift to someone else & happy she has such a good friend in Jess. Melissa is a woman of few words but she will always be happy to talk about their adventures. Cheers to a happy marriage! (As told by Pat Curra, Melissa's husband)

Maddox Goldman

Ring Bearer

Maddox loves his Uncle Brett almost as much as he loves Gus the cat. He is so excited to be the ring bearer and remains hopeful that he will be able to dress up like a bear for the occasion.
