Brent and Jessica were introduced at their work Christmas party. Despite crossing paths in the office, it wasn’t until May 4, 2017 (May the fourth, a date with a delightful twist) that Jess gathered the courage to message Brent during work hours. Brent, ever the professional, assumed it was a regarding a work-related inquiry. After kindly expediting his request within her department, Jess took the leap and invited Brent to lunch.

The couples conversations flowed seamlessly over the ensuing weeks. Before long, Brent found himself booking plane tickets to join Jess's pre-planned Scotland vacation where she was meeting her friends. After several hikes, whiskey tours, and trying to find the Loch Ness Monster, the two were falling for each other. It was at Dunnottar Castle, where Brent surprised Jess by playing music from his phone, grabbing her hand to dance, and asking her to be his girlfriend. Following their walk along Stonehaven’s shore, they discovered seaglass. Jessica’s eyes sparkled as she animatedly shared her passion with Brent. In that moment, Brent tucked away a thought, that if the day should come, he knew how he would propose. As their bond deepened, the couple took a leap of faith, deciding to move into together. They joined the same soccer teams, creating a robust social circle. Their shared passions include brewery visits, hosting lively parties, annual river tubing escapades, and spontaneous plane rides to new horizons. Recently, the couple relocated to Charlotte, NC, accompanied by their beloved fur-child, Nova.

As winter departed, Brent and Jess were eager to escape someplace warm. The couple flew to Puerto Rico, first traveling the mainland, exploring waterfalls and eating delicious cusine. They spent the second half of their trip on Viequez Island. The sandy white beach and crystal blue waters made for the perfect setting. With Jess's eyes fixed on the sand, scouring for seaglass treasures. Brent followed closely behind her. As he dropped to one knee, he shouted with excitement. “Come see the piece I’ve just found!” Jess kept searching the sand as she made her way to him, but when she looked up. There, in Brent’s outstretched hand, rested a delicate ring—a promise of forever. His smile radiated warmth, mirroring the sun’s embrace. And in that sun-kissed moment, amidst the sand and sea, Brent asked the question that would forever change their lives: “Will you marry me?” She said YES!
