In July 2017, Jessica spontaneously moved from Dallas to Seattle, looking for a change. In August 2017, Alfred spontaneously moved from Houston to Seattle, with the plan of staying for only a year or 2. They met October 1, 2017 at Optimism Brewery (with Chloe Bear) where they learned that they were both from Texas, both went to UT Austin, and both worked at Amazon. They have been together ever since.

Jessica and Alfred went to Hawaii for the first time in early 2020. Alfred planned on surprising Jessica with a proposal but accidentally left a couple clues that this wasn’t just a regular vacation. On the day before the trip, he brought back some toiletries from the store in his backpack. When Jessica went in to the backpack to grab the toiletries she found the ring box instead. She screamed, then he screamed, and both pretended like that didn’t just happen. On the day of the proposal, they were hiking Koko Head trail in the morning. Alfred told Jessica to go down before him so he could take a secret call to discuss logistics with an engagement photographer. Unfortunately, because of how the mountain was shaped, sounds carried and Jessica heard everything. Later that afternoon, Alfred proposed to Jessica on at the top of Crouching Lion, a beautiful hike in Oahu overlooking Kahana Bay.

Jessica & Alfred loved Hawaii so much they went back and eloped on On May 1, 2021. Since they are already married, they want their wedding to be a big celebration to enjoy the night with family and friends.
