We definitely recommend staying at Kilkea Castle (the wedding venue) to make the most of the wedding festivities and avoid any transportation worries! There are enough rooms for all guests and a room block being held until July 14, 2025. Just a heads-up—there won’t be transportation to offsite hotels.

How do I book my room at the castle?

Booking Instructions for Wedding Stay at Kilkea Castle To book a wedding room, please visit the Kilkea Castle website and use the promo code 198188 under the Wedding Stay section. Booking via Mobile Phone: 1. Go to www.kilkeacastle.ie. 2. Scroll down and click on Wedding Stay at the bottom of the page. Important: Be sure to scroll through the room options BEFORE entering the promo code. 3. Enter Promo Code 198188 under either Castle/Carriage Accommodation or Lodge Accommodation. 4. Select your dates and enter your personal details to complete your booking. Booking via Desktop: 1. Go to www.kilkeacastle.ie. 2. Click on Wedding Stay at the top right of the homepage. Important: Be sure to scroll through the room options before entering the promo code. 3. Choose your preferred room and enter Promo Code 198188. 4. Select your dates and proceed with your personal details to confirm the booking. Note: The website may display the date as "6.10.25," which refers to October 6, 2025—this is the correct date for your booking. The room block is available until July 14, 2025.

How do I book additional nights at the castle?

Book online initially for October 4-6th. Once booked for the 4-6th, respond to your booking confirmation with the additional nights that you require. The wedding rate will be applied to the additional nights once you booked online using the code.

“ Book now pay later”- You can book your rooms now and payment is not due until check in!

How long is the room block held until? When is the latest I can book my room?

The room block will be held until July 14, 2025. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to book early! While there are plenty of rooms available in each category, booking sooner gives you the best chance of securing your preferred room style.

Can I cancel my room?

Yes, there is a 72 hour cancellation policy.

Will the wedding be inside or outside? Is there a rain plan?

Answer

The location of the wedding will be weather dependent, with an outdoor ceremony preferred. Please come prepared for an outdoor celebration, as there may be a slight chill in the air and the possibility of drizzle. In case of weather concerns, there is also a beautiful indoor option available. The decision will be made on the day of the wedding, around noon. Since there is only one wedding on site at a time, we’re able to offer flexibility and ensure a perfect setting, rain or shine! We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

What is the weather like in Ireland at this time?

Expect weather similar to a New England fall, with average temperatures around 55–60°F. Be sure to pack a mix of layers to stay cozy! The ceremony could be indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather, and the final call will be made by 12 PM on the wedding day.

When should I fly in?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will take place on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM. You’re welcome to fly in as late as Monday morning and depart as early as Tuesday, whatever works best for you! That said, we’d recommend arriving by Sunday to give yourself plenty of time and avoid any stress or travel delays. There will be events taking place from Saturday to Tuesday, and you’re welcome to join any (or all) of them!

Why does the date look like 6.10.25?

In Europe, dates are written as day, month, year—so 6.10.25 means October 6, 2025. Just to confirm, the correct date is October 6, 2025!

Do I have to rent a car?

Answer

It’s totally up to you! Taxis are available to get you to/from the airport, however booking a taxi back to the airport from the castle is suggested. Transportation to/from the Welcome Event at Clancy’s will be provided! If you’re thinking about renting a car, just keep in mind they drive on the other side of the road—but don’t worry, there’s plenty of onsite parking at the hotel!

What if I can’t make the wedding in Ireland?
