Bride
Jess is thrilled to marry the love of her life and is so happy you’ll be able to join her and Doug in celebrating their marriage! Jess knew Doug was different from the beginning. Doug taught her to mountain bike and he even caught some flak from Mary Kay (in jest, of course!) when Jess had a couple of falls early on. Doug was amazed to learn that she is also a better skier than he is 😂.
Groom
Doug loves hiking and mountain biking and is truly, madly, deeply in love with his future WIFE, Jessica Marie Schroeder… it all started with a “cute girl in a blue dress”, how Doug refers to a picture on Jess’ dating profile that caught his eye. What was that thought you had when you looked at her dating app pic, Doug?!
Matron of Honor
Emily is Jess' middle sister and is married to Mark Raybould and is the mother of two beautiful children, Sawyer and Cali. Emily and Jess grew up together in White Rock, NM and Jess has special memories of playing Barbies, camping, and swimming at the neighborhood pool in the summers with Emily.
Maid of Honor
Meghan is Jess' youngest sister and the two grew up together in White Rock, NM. Meg was Jess' sidekick growing up and could always be found hanging out with Jess and her high school friends. Meghan is a talented and compassionate Emergency Department nurse in Santa Fe, NM. She and Jess have met up in Colorado and New Mexico many times for ski trips and Meg is a wicked talented snowboarder!
Bridesmaid
Jenny is married to Jess' younger brother, Wes, and is the mother of two incredible little boys, Zach and Will. Jess treasures her memories traveling with Jenny through Germany for Christmas and Iceland for New Years one year, and the Champagne region in France for New Years a following year.
Bridesmaid
Rose is Jess' cousin. Jess remembers spending time with Rose during Kansas summers playing with farm kittens, sleeping outside on a trampoline and waking up in the middle of the night scrunched in the center having moved to the middle of it, riding the four wheeler full speed with Uncle Roger, and riding horses bareback with Jess falling off when hers was spooked. The two have traveled across Japan and parts of Europe together as adults.
Best Man
Taylor is Doug's younger brother and lives with his beautiful wife, Jen, and their adorable kids in Missoula, Montana. Doug remembers telling dragon stories to Taylor and their sister Rachel before bedtime when growing up. Doug was able to visit Taylor and Rachel's families in Montana during the summer of 2023 and enjoyed spending time with them on hikes, getting ice cream, and seeing their gardens. Taylor’s dedication to not only providing for his family but nurturing and teaching his children to be good Christians is an inspiration to Doug and Jess.
Groomsman
Raymond is one heck of a rock climber and friend! He is married to his wife, Christy, and lives in Austin, TX with their three children. He and Doug spent a lot of time in Colorado Springs rock climbing. Doug would go to Raymond and Christy’s often to play games when they lived in Colorado Springs before they moved to out of state. Raymond’s family was a huge inspiration for Doug to go back to college, get a degree and a better paying job, and start his own family someday.
Groomsman
Tyler and Doug studied together at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs when both were studying for their Mechanical Engineering degrees. Tyler and Doug's friendship continued past long study sessions and they also love to go mountain biking at Stratton Open Space, riding way too fast and taking jumps. Tyler even referred Doug into his first job out of grad school as a systems engineer at CACI.
Groomsman
Jared and Doug spent time together working in the Advanced Manufacturing Lab at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Jared is crazy smart and recently graduated with his PhD in Mechanical Engineering and the two nerd out arguing about cool science things regularly. Jared was monumental in helping Doug learn polymer science, coding, mathematics and much more.
Officiant
Wes is Jess' younger brother. Jess remembers her and Wes stuffing whole packs of sour warheads in their mouths until their jaws almost went numb as kids. She also remembers being on the high school swim team when Wes was on the diving team, and both of them being cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy at the same time.
Mother of the Bride
Mary Kay is Jess’ mom. Jess remembers her mom speaking Spanish when her family would travel to Mexico to visit the ocean on family vacations, and she treasures the trip she took with her mom to Paris and Spain during the summer between Jess’ junior and senior year of high school. ♥️
Mother of the Groom
Noreen McQuinn is Doug’s mom. Growing up, Doug remembers fun trips to Knotts Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Hawaii, and Alaska. Noreen enjoys hiking, playing piano, playing pool, and taking her sweet German Shepherd, Trace, on walks. Noreen also has two daughters, Katie and Becca, and a son-in-law, Chris, whom is married to Katie. Noreen’s successful career as an aerospace systems engineer at Boeing was an inspiration for Doug to pursue the same career goals.
Father of the Bride
Jeff is Jess’ dad. Jess remembers her dad playing Elton John records on Saturday mornings when she was little. She remembers him taking all four kids camping in the summer in the beautiful New Mexico wilderness and cooking hot dogs for dinner, s’mores, and eggs and bacon for breakfast.
Father of the Groom
Doug remembers going on many fishing trips with his dad over the years. We enjoyed shooting at the gun range in Seeley Lake, MT and doing movie nights there. Doug and his dad would often connect with their interests in various types of music.
Stepmother of the Groom
Margot has been in Doug's life since he was 3-4 years old. Doug remembers many fun fishing trips with Margot in all the different places they lived. She encouraged him to get into photography (as well as many other artistic avenues) and was quite fond of it for many years.
