Here you will find details about wedding day events! As we're just a few short days away, we've removed visibility to our RSVP tab. We've also including an important travel note on our Travel tab.
First comes Tinder, then comes marriage! After both swiping right, some time went by without either one reaching out to chat. Jessica kept looking back at Ty's profile hoping he would send her a message, so finally she reached out to him! After a quick week of chatting via text, Ty asked Jessica to meet for dinner!
Ty asked Jessica to dinner downtown at Water Buffalo in the third ward. He was waiting for her along the riverwalk, she gave him a natural hug hello - they say when you know you know, she knew. They sat outside along the river and stayed for that extra drink to continue the conversation. Neither one wanted the date to end but they weren't really sure how to keep it going after dinner. Heading back to Ty's apartment, his roommate suggested we grab a few more drinks. We found ourselves on the dance floor at Bad Genie (little did Jessica know Ty is not big on dancing!) and they've talked every day since.
The very next weekend after their first date, Ty invited Jess to Madison for a Badger game. It was unseasonably warm and Badger fans overflowed bar patios and filled the streets. They met up with Ty's cousins, who offered them a place to crash - Mel even offered to be the designated driver for the night! (Later we found out Mel was pregnant with their first child!) Hopping from bar to bar and finally landing at Tim and Mel's - Ty and Jess stayed up almost all night talking.
Ty and Jess had spent the day cooking for their numerous holiday parties, one of which started at 4pm on Christmas Eve. As the timer finally buzzed on the last dish, they got dressed in their Christmas nines and packed up to head to the party, albeit they were easily the last ones to arrive. Before they left however, Ty said he would like to give Jess her Christmas present - Jess was ready to head out the door and asked if she could open it tomorrow as their tradition is gifts on Christmas morning. Ty insisted and handed her a small box (which she knew was chocolates from a local sweets store). As she unwrapped the rather lackluster gift Ty grabbed an even smaller box that he had hidden in the bookshelf, when she looked up from her chocolates he was down on one knee holding a beautiful ring.
Our ceremony will be held at St.Elizabeth Ann Seton in New Berlin. Being Ty's family parish, he grew up attending mass here as a child, When it came time to build a new church they held a design contest (which Ty believes he won!). He claims to this day that his drawing looks just like new church! Our reception will be held at AudMar Banquet Hall on Bass Bay in Muskego. Jessica always imagined her wedding to be lakeside and how fitting to be in Muskego where she worked for several years conserving the lakes and public lands. We hope to enjoy a beautiful summer night by bringing an intimate feel to this rustic yet modern venue!
