We're getting married!

Jessica Stake grew up in Chambersburg, PA. She moved to the Philadelphia area to study Creative Writing and Psychology at Eastern University and K-12 School Counseling at West Chester University. Some of the most important things to Jess are her family, friends, dogs, coffee shops, concerts, baking, used bookstores, and traveling. In fact, Jess was traveling to Florida to visit two of her close friends when she and Camille met. Camille Perez was born and raised in Kissimmee, FL. The biggest pieces of Cami’s heart are her family, friends, and the pups. She loves to go on adventures, whether it’s discovering a new bookstore, coffee shop, or traveling somewhere she’s never been. When Cami is not out exploring you can usually find her at home making legos, doing something creative, or trying out a new recipe in the kitchen! Cami studied Film at Valencia College and Psychology at the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) but ended up following in her Mother’s footsteps by working in Education, where she worked side-by-side with those friends of Jess’ that we mentioned earlier! *This brings us to the meet cute.* Okay, okay, it wasn’t that meet-cute-ish, but it still led to some really great things! So, pretty much Cami came along for the ride to the airport when Jess flew into Florida to visit her friends and was sitting there in the passenger seat, when Jess hopped in. Jess’s first impression of Cami was that she was quiet, mysterious, smart, and didn’t seem to care what anyone thought of her. She was silly, down to earth, caring, and fun. Cami’s first impression of Jess was that she was free-spirited, fun, and kind. She knew Jess was spontaneous when she jumped into the pool with Cami later that cool, March evening. The next part of their story seems like a blur filled with salt water, deep conversation, tennis, strawberry beer, cookouts, puppy snuggles, drink tallies, guitar playing, video chats, and lots of adventure. Jess was offered a job in Florida shortly thereafter and Cami and Jess only grew closer from there. Our story has certainly not been the easiest of ones. Fear of judgement and disappointment, criticism and lack of understanding complicated our love. And it took a long, LONG time for us to get through the fear to a place of acceptance. The love and support we’ve received throughout the years from our closest friends has meant so much more than words can say. Thank you for supporting us, celebrating us, and creating a space for us to love out loud. The love we have for each other is a rare love. A true love. A forever love. And it deserves to be CELEBRATED! We can’t wait to celebrate with all of our friends and family on September 27, 2024. We’re looking forward to starting the next chapter of our beautiful love story.
