Jessi: We met in NYC in October 2019 at a Shabbat dinner. My friend Bri invited me to the apartment of 4 goofy guys living in the city for an internship with a Messianic Jewish Ministry. I had no earthly idea what a Shabbat dinner was, but at the time was craving more genuine friendships especially those in the same life phase. After this Shabbat, the 6 of us hung out a lot doing fun things in the city. I loved hanging out with Sergey one-on-one but never thought of it more than a friendship. Early 2020, he told me he had a crush on me in the past, we laughed and changed the topic. In March 2020, I went home for quarantine for 3 months and we started texting a lot more. When I came back to NYC in June we had 3 weeks together before he had to leave for Israel. It was during that time I realized I was crushing back. Literally, the day he flew back to Israel we decided to turn our friendship into more, not knowing when we'd see each other next. By the grace of God, he was able to come back to NYC in September after 10 weeks of being apart. The good Lord has blessed us through this entire relationship with His provision and guidance, and we couldn't be more excited for a life together!! Sergey: Jessi came to the House of Living Waters to participate in a Shabbat dinner. During a Friendsgiving she started to lip-sync Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass", and I was in awe! It even gave me goosebumps. After months of waiting, I had the courage to ask her if she wanted to date, and on the same day left for Israel. Ten weeks later I came back to New York and we've spent the last year and a half in a long-distance relationship seeing each other for short periods of time. Thankfully we've gotten to travel whether it's meeting in Chicago, New York, or Mississippi. In November I proposed and asked her to be with me forever and here we are.... waiting for you to celebrate with us!
