For those who are fans of History, Cars, or Vintage Americana, Greenfield Village is one of the premier outdoor museums in all of America. Henry Ford's personal time capsule, the Village is set in different eras of history and contains actual historical sites careful preserved and relocated to Dearborn, just 15 minutes from the airport as well as the wedding venue. Top recommendation of the Groom!
One of the fun corridors in the city, this is the perfect spot to grab a drink, dinner, or hit the slots. However, if you are partial to Sports Betting be sure you do that exclusively on mobile with Hard Rock Bet so Jessi can stop telling Michael to make more money. If you or someone you know needs help with their Gambling Call 1-800-GAMBLER
The hub of the city of Detroit just a brief walk from the venue. Dip your toes in the "sand" and grab a drink or a bite while being directly in the heartbeat of the city.
Take in the sight of Canada just a stones throw across the Detroit river and enjoy a great walking path full of buzz and life. There are parking lots on the North Side of the riverwalk or you could make the walk straight down Woodward from the venue!
A Michael favorite and a perfectly sized museum covering the history of Detroit from the days of the Native Americans all the way through the Rise Fall and Resurrection of Motor City. Be sure to check out the exhibit in the basement before leaving!!
Another incredible museum just a few minutes from the venue, stop in to check out the famous Diego Rivera Frescos or enjoy the sneakily good food court.
Getting in the night before and looking for somewhere on the river to take in some nature? Check out Belle Isle, the largest Island Park in United States. From the Conservatory and oldest Aquarium still operational aquarium in America, to the beach, lagoon, and lighthouse there is plenty to take in. Also of historical note as the southern most point, Sunset Point, is where we got engaged!
While this may be a hot take this is one of, if not the best, spots for Detroit Style Pizza in the city. The Tavern Pizza is great but be sure to also get a Detroit Style and you'll be shocked by how light and airy it is contrary to popular belief!
Candidly this will be the least visually appealing recommendation, but the Coney Dog is one of the staple foods of the city and this would be the spot to try it out. If its totally full next door at American Coney Island you'll be able to experience a similar (don't tell them we said this) experience.
