On August 4, 2011 Mando started work at a new Ralphs store, the last place he wanted to be until he laid eyes on Jess pushing in grocery carts. While this sounds like love at first site, it was far from it. Feeling overly confident after an introudcition by their manager, Jess quickly blew Mando off and asked to go home, not caring to further the conversation past "hi". However Mando knew instantly that this was the woman of his dreams and he would later find out that Jess felt the same way despite her icy demeanor. After numerous shifts together they quickly developed a friendship that heavily relied on Mando bagging for Jess while simultaneously teaching her all her produce codes. While romantic feelings always lingered, they remained friends with a side of heavy flirting for over a year. It was until the Summer of 2012 when they decided to give their relationship a real shot. After numerous months of dating, vacations, and long gazes from check stand to check stand, their relationship was finally made official on April 25, 2013 at the lovers restaurant, Red Lobster.
