Fort Yargo State Park
Our favorite park in the area! We love to kayak here. They also have beautiful trails and a "beach". This is a great place to go if you are looking for something to do outdoors. If you go, make sure you bring a putter and golf ball! Their mini golf course is a must (and free!) 25 minutes from The Engine Room
State Botanical Gardens of Georgia
If you are looking for beautiful scenery or walking trails, this is the place to go! It is hands down one of the most beautiful places in Athens....and it is where we got engaged!! 30 minutes from The Engine Room

If you ask either of us where you should eat while you're in Athens, there is a 100% chance we are going to say Barbs. There are several located around Athens, but this one is the OG.
