Lower South End can be a bit out of the way, but is worth a visit for sure. Breweres at 4001 Yancy - a combo brewery concept from Victory & Southern Tier. Food & Drinks The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery - traditional Gernam brewery with a massive beer garden. Come grab a brautwurst and a beer and relax. Sugar Creek brewing company Queen Park Social - bowling, shuffleboard and other games + restaurant
West End is where Kara & I live, and we love walking/biking around our up and coming neighborhood: Food: Rhino Market & Deli - Our favorite place. This place has anything from breakfast burritos to deli sandwiches to any other snack you could want. Pinky's - great little burger/hot dog spot, very affordable. Drink: Town Brewing - very cool little brewery right across the street from where we live. Blue Blaze - Located at the end of the bike path, a quiet spot to get away from the noise of uptown. Jack beagles - easy for some standard american food/drinks
The Whitewater Center is such a fun place to explore. Parking is $5 for the day. Once you are there you can walk all over the grounds. They have whitewater rafting, biking, zip lines, live music, a beer garden and so much more! Or if you're like Austin and I you can post up by the big drops, grab a beer and watch everyone fall out of their rafts! Fun Fact: Austin used to work here! So if you need any advice just ask him!
