Travel

We're so excited to have you in Chicago! We've included some tips and ideas to make sure travel is as seamless as possible. Please let us know if you have any questions or need help figuring out how to navigate the city.

Flight

O'Hare International Airport

This is the most convenient of the two airports to fly into as the blue line train station is directly connected. If you're planning to take the train, follow signs for "CTA trains to city" after picking up your bags.

Flight

Chicago Midway International Airport

While further from us and the reception location, Midway sometimes has better flight options. If you're taking the train from Midway, you'll be on the orange line and can transfer to other train lines in the loop.

Train

Chicago trains and buses

Chicago is relatively easy and inexpensive to navigate without a car, and it's how we get around day-to-day. You can purchase a multi-day pass and use the fare card on both trains and buses. The majority of the events we're holding over the weekend will be easily accessible from the Blue Line train. Your favorite phone map app will tell you how to get around using transit.

Travel Note

Parking

If you drive here or opt to rent a car, you will need to pay for parking at most locations around the city. There are not many parking lots in our area, so you may want to budget extra time to find street parking.

Hotel

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Chicago O'Hare

8101 West Higgins Road, Chicago, IL 60631

There is a hotel block at SpringHill Suites near the O'Hare airport. A shuttle runs every 30 minutes from the ariport to the hotel--convenient if you are flying in and staying without a car. From the airport, you can also take the blue line to the event venue(s). In order to take advantage of the block rate, you need to book by Friday, April 24th.

Travel Note

Other Accomodations

The part of Chicago where we live, and where the reception will be held, does not have much in the way of hotels. If a hotel is your preference, your best bet is to stay downtown, near the O'Hare Airport, or even in Wicker Park--all of which are easy to access on the Blue Line train. If you prefer to stay close to the venue, home rental options such as Airbnb are a good bet!
