South Congress Avenue
A fun street to walk along. We walked this street after dinner on our first date! Home of the "I love you so much" graffiti wall (on the side of Jo's Coffee) and lots of other photo ops, restaurants and shops.
Rainey Street Historic District
A lively and fun street, day or night! Lots of bar-hopping options and places to eat.
Lady Bird Lake Trail
Right next to downtown and is a lovely lakeside walk.
Mount Bonnell
A gorgeous view of the city.
Pennybacker Bridge Overlook
A short hike up, leaves you with a pretty view of the Pennybacker Bridge and Lake Austin.
Renting paddle boards/kayaks on Lady Bird Lake

Statesman Bat Observation Center
"From March through September of each year, large groups of locals and tourists visit bats in Austin, Texas. Nearly one and a half million bats in Austin call the South Congress Bridge home during this time period. Each evening, many bat enthusiasts and watchers stake out lookout spots below and above the South Congress Bridge. It’s one of the best places to view the South Congress Bridge Bats, also known as Brazilian or Mexican free-tailed bats. They emerge and shoot out from the bridge daily for their nightly feeding and aerial show."
